Laguna’s Best Ten Weeks Start Tuesday

Labor Day closes out summer. What follows is the finest stretch of weather all year, and a very unusual winter lining up behind it.

Ask anyone who has spent a full year in this town to name the best month and almost nobody says July. They say September, or they say October, and then they get slightly protective about it.

There is a reason. The marine layer backs off. The water is still warm, warmer than it was in June, and it holds through October. Mornings go glassy and offshore.
