Balboa Village is one of the best places to hang out in Newport Beach. It’s full of family-friendly experiences, amazing restaurants, culture, water sports and history. You can shop, play, dine and enjoy outdoor recreation all at the Balboa Village. It’s the type of place you can check out for an hour or for an entire day because there is so much to do.

There are two boardwalks, one where you’ll see yachts at Newport Harbor and one adjacent to the white, sandy beach. Balboa Village has been around since 1936 offering fun entertainment for all ages at great prices. Here is a look at what you’ll experience at the Balboa Village.

Shopping

One of people’s favorite things to do at Balboa Village is to shop. You’ll find all kinds of shopping from clothing to jewelry, surf shops to fine art, there is a little bit of everything. Check out Rainey Fine Art at 111 Palm Street or the Surfside Silver at 603 East Balboa Boulevard.

The Young & Restless is a clothing store and Kohana Skin at 509 East Balboa Boulevard Suite A contains organic skincare products. You’ll find boutiques, gifts, cigar lounges and more at Balboa Village.

Dining

When you’re ready for a bite to eat, check out the many options in the Village. There is Azar’s Gourmet Pizza at 309 Palm Street, Balboa Barbie Q at 600 East Bay Avenue Suite A7 and Great Mex Grill at 703 East Balboa Boulevard for starters. You can find ice cream shops, cafes, craft-brewed beers, diners and international cuisine all over the Village.

Recreation

This area is perfect for outdoor recreation activities. There are tons of water sports to enjoy. You can rent kayaks, sailboats and stand up paddle boards. You can rent bikes, ride the huge Ferris wheel, check out a show at the Balboa Performing Arts Theater or have some fun at the Bay Arcade. There are hands-on exhibits at Explorocean, whale watching and sports fishing, the Ocean Motion attraction and even Segway tours.
