If you're searching for a Swiss-French restaurant, Basilic Restaurant is the place for you. It's a different style compared to just a traditional French restaurant. The restaurant is small, intimate and full of great dishes.

Basilic Restaurant is found in the Balboa Island area and was opened in 1997. They have served the area for many years with some of the finest dishes you will find. Chef Bernard pays close attention to the details of every dish and ensures your satisfaction.

The Menu

At Basilic Restaurant, you're not stuck with the same menu every single time you dine. As Chef Bernard is inspired with new ideas, the menu changes. It also varies depending on the season so that the restaurant can serve the freshest dishes possible. Some of the top items on the menu include:

  • Fresh Seasonal Blue Crab
  • Beef Tenderloin Steak Tartar
  • Basilic Bouillabaisse

Along with the great main courses, you can enjoy one of many different desserts. A featured dessert is provided every night, along with Crème Brulee, Tarte Tatin and many other choices.

Basilic also provides a five-course Prix Fixe menu available nightly. It must be ordered by all guests at the table and includes:

  • Special Salade
  • Special Fish
  • Champagne Sorbet Palate Refresher
  • Special Viande
  • Dessert Trio

The Prix Fixe menu is $59 per person.

Along with the amazing dishes and the Prix Fixe menu, you will find plenty of great wines at the restaurant. They provide a white and a red wine of the month, along with plenty others by the bottle or by the glass.

Location and Hours

Basilic Restaurant is found at 217 Marine Avenue in Balboa Island near Newport Beach. The restaurant opens at 5:30pm every night of the week except Sundays and Mondays. It's recommended that you make a reservation as they only have seating for 24 and the restaurant is very popular.
