Newport Beach is home to many walking trails for residents to enjoy. Many of the trails will also allow biking. Here’s a look at the many different trails found throughout the area.

Back Bay Loop Trail

Maybe the most popular trail found in the area, this one covers 10.5 miles. It's known as one of the premier recreational assets in the region. The trail allows plenty of fun with many stops along the way including:

  • Big Canyon
  • Back Bay Science Center
  • Newport Aquatic Center
  • Mariners Park and Library
  • Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center
  • Upper Castaways Park
  • Back Bay View Park
  • Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

Whether you want to enjoy the stops or you just want to relax as you walk, the Back Bay Loop Trail is a great choice.

Pier-to-Pier

This beachfront walking trail is about 1.74 miles one way. The trail is designated for both pedestrians and bicycles. Those looking for incredible views of the ocean will love this trail.

Fashion Island Loop

A 1.22-mile trail around Fashion Island, this trail provides plenty of great walking. It's nearly all sidewalks and allows for shoppers to enjoy walking, as well.

Arroyo Trail

A short trail measuring about 0.61 miles one way, walkers can enjoy plenty of great views along Arroyo Park. This trail continues on to Bonita Canyon Sports Park.

Buck Gully Trail

The measurement of all the trails in this system is 3.41 miles. Enjoy walking through urbanized areas with roadways, a golf course and more. The trail also covers plenty of natural areas and is open daily from dawn until dusk.
