Discovering the Lyon Air Museum provides quite a bit of fun for both adults and children. This museum is packed with aviation history, interactive exhibits and more.

The authentic aircrafts and rare vehicles provide plenty to enjoy with an emphasis on World War II and the 20th century. Gain a better understanding of the aviation of the United States and how it played a role to shape the history of the world. Here's what you will discover at the Lyon Air Museum.

Exhibits

The museum is full of great exhibits, which you can see with a self-guided tour or a docent led tour. Some of the exhibits you can enjoy include:

  • Airplanes - Boeing B-17, Cessna O-1E, Douglas C-47, Douglas DC-3 and more!
  • Automobiles - 1922 Ford Model T Roaster/Runabout, 1931 Buick Phaeton, 1940S Divco Helms Bakery Truck and More!
  • Military Motorcycles - 1943 German NSU Kettenkrad HK 101, 1943 Japanese Rikuo Sidecar and 1945 Indian Motorcycle.
  • Military Vehicles - 1939 German VID Tempo Gelaendewagen, 1942 Fort GPW Military Jeep and more!

These exhibits provide a look at the vehicles used years ago and the docents will plenty of information about each vehicle. Whether you want to learn about the airplanes or the military vehicles, this museum is a great place to enjoy.

Visiting the Museum

The museum is open for visitors from 10am to 4pm daily. You can enjoy all the museum has to offer for $12 and children ages 5 to 17 get in for $6. Seniors and Veterans receive a $3 discount and groups receive a $1 discount.

Group tours are also available for groups of 10 or more. If you would like a group tour, it needs to be books ahead of time.
