Peppino’s Italian Family Restaurant is the place to get pizza in the OC since 1984. Since opening it has expanded into four locations in Orange County serving the fest Italian food in the area. It began in Lake Forest and can now be found in Mission Viejo, Foothill ranch and Aliso Viejo.
It grew because customers found it to be so fantastic and the loyalty allowed it to reach more people. Peppino stands for “Little Joe” in Italian and founder Joe was called this by his parents which inspired the name. With a strong influence of Italian cooking by his mother, Joseph Moscatiello attended chef’s school and later opened the restaurant. Here is a look at what you’ll find at this family restaurant.

The restaurant opened in April of 1984 after the founder Joseph Moscatiello was inspired by his mother’s Italian cooking. After attending chef’s school in New York, he realized that his mother was still the best cook he knew. The restaurant opened with many family members working there and quickly gained a customer loyalty. With good food, happy customers and the family-friendly atmosphere, Peppino’s has become very popular.

The restaurant always uses the finest ingredients to bring out the entrée’s flavors. You can dine in or get take out to bring dinner home to the family. Stop into one of their locations seven days a week where you can enjoy lunch, dinner, a bar and the patio. The Mission Viejo location is open 4pm to 9:30pm on Monday through Thursday, 11am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday and 11am-9:30pm on Sundays.
Start with an appetizer of Bruschetta or Peppino’s Shrimp Cocktail. Minestrone Soup or the Cobb Salad is a perfect choice before diving into your pasta entrée. Try your choice of spaghetti, mostaccioli, fettuccini, linguini, angel hair or rigatoni pastas with alfredo sauce, marinara sauce, primavera and much more.
