The Balboa Island Wine Walk is coming up this May and you won’t want to miss it. As the event says, “Wine tastes better at the beach,” so be sure to come to this event to celebrate wine, beach walks and shopping.

It’s the first year for the event and it’s going to be a great chance for locals and visitors to sip fine wine while sampling delicious cuisine and shopping at one-of-a-kind specialty shops and exclusive galleries. It’s a great chance to meet others, sample local food and drink, enjoy live entertainment and go shopping. Here is a look at what you need to know for the upcoming event.

What to expect

The event is taking place May 30th from 3pm-7pm at Balboa Island Marine Avenue. You’ll need to purchase tickets either in advance or at the door. Tickets for pre-sale are $40 while it will cost $45 on the day of the event. VIP tickets will be available in a limited quantity for $75.

General admission tickets include entrance, a commemorative wine glass, 10 fine wine tastings, delicious culinary samples from local restaurants and one raffle ticket for wine country.

VIP’s will get all of this plus high-end wine tastings, access to a VIP post-event party at Wilma’s Patio Restaurant, a swag bag, and a $20 safe ride LYFT code voucher.

About the walk

The wine walk in Balboa Island is your chance to sample local wine and food while being entertained and shopping. The proceeds will benefit the Balboa Island Merchant’s Association and Marine Avenue is going to open shops and restaurants to the general public during the event.

It’s a spring and fall event to bring locals together, as well as visitors, to enjoy scrumptious cuisine, fine wine and shopping on Marine Avenue. You can sample wines from over 15 venues and there will be live entertainment, fun event activities and tons of area to stroll and shop.
